CHIPS ONLINE Blend Design Tool is the most robust design tool available for the seamless flooring market. 

What makes it special ?

CHIPS COLOR – Typically, colors are not displayed accurately on desktop monitors.  Why?  Each manufacturer calibrates them differently.  Therefore, desktop design tools that provide color choices are not helpful unless an accurate color reference is available to validate your color selections.  CHIPS ONLINE Blend Design Tool lets you match colors to the color palettes of The Sherwin-Williams Company.  Two palettes are included in the tool - (1) the COLOR collection and (2) the  CONCEPTS IN COLOR collection. 

COLOR RATIOS – The percentage of each color specified in a CHIPS blend significantly contributes to the resulting “look” of your seamless flooring solution.  Our tool lets you specify the percentage of each CHIPS color in increments of 1% – giving you the flexibility you need to optimize your design.  In addition, when you change one of the color ratios in your blend, our tool automatically changes the other color ratios for you.  Finally, “lock” any color ratio and subsequent color ratio changes will dynamically affect only the remaining “unlocked” colors.  Give it a try !  We think you’ll like it.

CHIPS SIZE – CHIPS size also contributes to the “look” of your seamless flooring solution.  Our tool lets you visualize your blend in any one of the following six size options (1/16”, 1/8”, 1/4", 3/8”, 5/8”, and 1 inch).

FAUX FINISH DESIGN – Did we mention CHIPS color, CHIPS size, and color ratios cooperate to produce the appearance and surface texture of your seamless flooring solution?  The right selection of color, size, and color ratios will let you produce a faux terrazzo, faux granite, or even a quartz-like aesthetic.  As with any faux finish, the true impact of your seamless flooring solution can only be fully appreciated when viewed from a distance. 

We naturally like to make color selections while holding a color sample about 6 inches away from our eyeballs.  But, don’t stop there!  Remember, CHIPS colors, CHIPS size, and color ratios cooperate to produces the aesthetic.  Here is a simple example – a CHIPS blend with white - 50% and red – 50% will look great when viewed from 6 inches away.  However, a seamless floor produced from this color combination will appear to be PINK when viewed from a distance!  To avoid unexpected results, CHIP ONLINE Blend Design Tool lets you view your blend in 3D virtual environments.  View your blend from a distance.  We think you will be impressed.

MOBILITY – CHIPS ONLINE Blend Design Tool will function on mobile devices (preferably tablets) with an internet connection and browser.  Save a link on your browser or bookmark to your home screen for easy access.

CREATE A LOGIN – Create a unique login (username and password) for each project or customer account.  Share your account logins with architects, designers, specifiers, and other team members to promote collaborative design solutions.

CHIPS Blend Design Tool (iPad App)

CHIPS Blend Design Tool (iPad App) utilizes an iPad display as the design pallet to support real-time development of custom CHIPS blends.  Blends displayed on the iPad resemble sample boards produced from actual product with a realistic simulation of CHIP size, CHIP color, and color ratios.  Using the iPad's mobility, flooring professionals can then perform a "visual walk-through" of an existing environment accompanied by the client to ensure that the proposed CHIPS blend (and resulting flooring installation) will complement existing decor.  For example, the iPad may be placed on the floor next to a wall with a CHIPS blend is displayed on the device.  The resulting interaction of the proposed customized floor and its surroundings can then be observed up close and at a distance to evaluate the visual combination.

CHIPS Blend Design Tool also includes computer generated 3D environments to provide users with additional virtual visualization capability.  The environments are rendered with light reflection and shadowing to simulate an installation of the proposed customized flooring solution.  Furthermore, wall color can be selected within the virtual environments to visually complement the proposed flooring solution.

Functionality is controlled within a "composition tool" that provides the user with an ability to compose, save, load, and order CHIPS blend samples.

COMPOSE - CHIPS size, CHIPS color, and color ratios are dynamically controlled by interacting with slider-bars and touch screen selections.  Interaction with the iPad is both dynamic and intuitive, allowing the user to remain focused on the creative process and client interaction.

SAVE - Once a CHIPS blend has been created, the user can elect to save it to a library that is maintained on the iPad with a user-defined name for later use or demonstration.

LOAD - CHIPS blend files that have been stored to the library can be recalled at anytime for client demonstration.  "Standardized" CHIPS blends can be created, stored, and recalled for frequent use.

ORDER - An integrated email function provides the user with an ability to contact Chips Unlimited, Inc. directly to request an actual sample of a blend created with the tool.  User provided contact information is transmitted along with CHIPS size and CHIPS colors (encrypted) and color ratios (encrypted) required to define the blend.  The email also includes a reference image of the blend.

CHIPS Blend Library (iPhone | iPad App) lets you keep all 200 featured CHIPS blends in your pocket.  Do you go anywhere without your cellphone?  Why not have ready access to design options that will enable you to exceed customer expectations and outperform the competition? 

This user-friendly app was created with the same inspiration that guided the development of our other design tools -- good design should be intuitive, elegant, and efficient.

INTUITIVE

Like the CHIPS Blend Library FAN DECK, each image in this app was produced from an actual sample board created with a full-broadcast application of the specified blend top-coated with a high-gloss resin.  We then optimized each image for display on Apple devices.  The result -- AMAZING! 

While we humans visually interpret the world around us (and more importantly - - color) from reflected light captured by our eyes; electronic displays emit color.  Therein lies a challenge - - How do you provide an accurate visual representation of colored samples on an electronic display?  You can't trick physics - but our technology let's us have a little fun !

ELEGANT

To navigate - simply touch and swipe. 

Full-screen blends are displayed at scale (CHIP size = 1/8" on an iPhone).  Share them easily via email and link to the CHIPS Design Center blog for tips and inspiration. 

Finally, "favorite" any blend to populate a volume of your own (containing up to 20 blends).  Simply touch the white star that appears in the upper-right-hand corner of the blend as it is displayed full-screen.  The star will turn yellow and the blend will be added to your "favorites".  "Favorites" appear below Volume 10.

CHIPS Blend Library (Fan Deck) is an industry leading design tool for the selection of customized seamless flooring solutions.  An ideal tool for architects, designers, specifiers, sales teams, and flooring professionals.

INTUITIVE

Each swatch was produced from an actual sample board created with a full-broadcast application of the specified blend top-coated with a high-gloss resin.  We then utilized a proprietary algorithm to digitally post-process each image prior to reproduction.  (We will share more about this innovative technology in a post later this year).  The result -- our fan deck images provide an amazingly accurate representation of each blend (i.e. chip color and size).  We are confident that you will agree -- the CHIPS Blend Library (Fan Deck) provides the closest match to actual sample boards the seamless flooring industry has ever seen!
